Memorandum of Agreement : Department of Environment and United Panel-System(M) Sdn.Bhd.

The launch of HCFC Phase-Out Management Plan (HPMP) - Stage 1, was held on 28 August 2012 in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Selected participants and beneficiaries from Malaysia attended this launch and seminar, which was attended by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment-Y.B.Dato Sri Douglas Uggah Embas, the Director General of Environment-Madam Halimah Hassan, and the Chief of Montreal Protocol and Chemical Unit(UNDP)-Dr.Suely Carvalho.

         

The Montreal Protocol is an International Agreement to control and remedy the ozone layer depletion by controlling the production and consumption of ozone depleting substances. The meeting of the parties was to rollout the plan and strategies for the phasing out of HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbon) by 2015.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Department of Environment and United Panel-System(M) Sdn.Bhd. has been established on this date.
